The holiday season is just around the corner. I get completely unnerved when Christmas is two or three weeks ahead of me and I have nothing checked off my list, or have even started a list to check off.
Then I run around like a Thanksgiving turkey with it's head cut off and come Christmas day, I am so exhausted it's nearly impossible to enjoy the beauty around me.
This month's newsletter will provide you with 10 helpful tips to make this Christmas season more enjoyable and stress free, well as stress free as the holidays can be.
1) The first step is to begin your shopping now. Do a little bit each week so you are not scrambling at the end. There are already deep savings to be had and a few extra dollars isn't worth missing Christmas Eve with your family.
2) As soon as you come home from shopping, wrap the presents you have just purchased. Have a station set up. This will save time in the end and also protect from nosy bodies who like to sneak peeks.
3) Try your best to pay cash and not use credit cards this season. Spend what you can afford. You will be happier in January and then you can reward yourself instead of playing catch up in those cold winterly months to come.
4) Begin writing your Christmas letter now.
5) Start Addressing envelopes while watching television or sipping your morning coffee.
6) Straighten up the basement so you can get your holiday decorations out and put them back with ease.
7) Take advantage of the sunny fall days and put up your Christmas lights, then they are ready to light when the season is finally here.
8) Prepare your cookie dough and freeze it for later. You will be happy to have one less thing to do while preparing holiday meals!
9) If you are throwing a holiday party, begin planning. At least the basics like your menu and invitation list.
10) And last but surely not least, find a good charity or family you wish to help through donations this holiday season. We are so blessed and Christmas is the season to help those in need.
